This game was made by some classmates of mine as a school project. I got the opportunity to work as a level designer later on, during the school's summer break.

Overview

Gill and Gull's Skyhigh Adventure is a chaotic co-op game where two players are tied together with a rubber band. This elasticity can be used in many ways to progress through the platforms. The players can collect a lot of coins along the way which fits well with the theme of sky pirates!

My work

Each level in this game has a theme and I decided to make a level based on round platforms. It can create interesting gameplay because instead of standing on it, you would have to hang the rope around it.

Level: Round Platforms

The design philosophy that was followed in this project is a mix between The Rule of Seven and 4 Step Level Design. In this level, it resulted in:

Introduction(1) – Development(2) – Resting place(3) – Twist(5) – Resting place(3) – Conclusion(6). On top of that I also added three secret spots(4) where the players are rewarded with more coins if they find it.
